Eric Cantor Slammed in Stunning Upset

WASHINGTON—In a stunning upset, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R., Va.), the second-ranking House Republican, lost his bid for re-election Tuesday to a tea-party backed primary opponent.
The Associated Press projected that GOP challenger David Brat would defeat Mr. Cantor. With 80% of precincts reporting, Mr. Cantor was trailing Mr. Brat by 12 percentage points, 56% to 44%.
